Our Mission

As one of the oldest Towns in the United States, Braintree has a rich history of resilience and progress.

Our Mission

One Braintree Civic Association (OBCA) is dedicated to promoting all potential solutions to our current financial crisis.

We advocate for initiatives that will invigorate our local businesses so that they can thrive: their success is Braintree’s success! We support the Override and believe it is in part, a necessary measure to alleviate the $18 million dollar fiscal shortfall that we are facing. And finally, we promote smart development strategies that ensure the long-term sustainability and prosperity of our community. We believe that fostering strong connections and positive dialogue is essential to achieving this goal. OBCA aims to engage residents in discussions about smart growth, community planning, and sustainable development practices. We provide educational resources and host events to inform residents about the impacts of potential solutions to our current Town issues, and a path forward. We desire to empower residents and businesses to participate actively in shaping the future of our beautiful Town. By providing a platform for diverse ideas and perspectives, we seek to encourage collaboration and innovation in finding solutions that benefit all members of our community. Together, we can create a Braintree that is vibrant, inclusive, and resilient for generations to come.

“There is no power for change greater than a community discovering what it cares about.”

— Margaret J. Wheatley
